This paper reviews quantum cascade laser spectroscopy and its applications for trace gas sensing and non-linear optics. The development of pulsed lasers for these applications are discussed focusing on the intra-pulse method. The operation of the quantum cascade laser spectrometer is investigated experimentally and by computer solutions of Maxwell-Bloch equations.
In this paper, it was shown that reflectivity of reflector surfaces depends on the quality of thin metal reflecting layers and their coating. The influence is of course relatively larger for high reflective metals because of the smaller skin-depth. Results presented in this paper show low reflection loss for Planck reflector technology and very reasonable reflection losses for a metalized carbon fiber...
The new gyrotron series in FIR FU, so-called gyrotron FU CW series is being developed for application to high power THz technologies. Gyrotron FU CW II with an 8 T liquid He free superconducting magnet, the second gyrotron of the series, has been constructed and the operation test was successfully carried out. It will be used for enhancing the sensitivity of 600 MHz proton-NMR by use of dynamic nuclear...
Forced oscillations are studied in a closed resonator filled with a polar dielectric. Time-dependent current density is installed in Maxwell's equations as an externally forced signal source. The latter can be an arbitrary integrable function of time. The system of Maxwell's equations (with partt) is solved simultaneously with Debye equation for the polarization vector, which plays role of a dynamic...
With C method diffraction by a surface is solved like in quantum mechanics by an eigenvectors method. Operators contain explicitly boundaries as functional parameters. It is possible to use all tools of quantum mechanics matrices associated to operators, perturbation method , uncertainty principle and many others. This lead to a very efficient modeling.
Noise and transport properties of state-of-the-art AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) heterostructures are analyzed with respect to high-frequency oscillator applications for different dissipated powers. The phase noise of a monolithic microwave integrated circuit oscillator based on the best choice AlGaN/GaN HEMT amplifier was investigated. A low level of the phase noise of the oscillator...
Summary form only given. Complex passive microwave components at frequencies above around 50 GHz are difficult to build because of their small size and high fabrication tolerances required. Micromachining is one technique which can achieve the desired results, and this paper will describe a new micromachining technique together with the microwave design and experimental tests. The applications considered...
Millimeter-wave spectrometers are considered now as the most actual instruments for monitoring stratospheric ozone and other minor gas constituents . All results were obtained using microwave technique which has big dimensions, complicate antenna system and can not be easy transported to the other site of observation. Some scientific tasks require the development of portable microwave instrument for...
